Project 365: Day 166 - Sanoe

This morning, I stopped by one of my favorite families to photograph their newest addition, Sanoe, who just made two weeks this past Friday!

 

This photo makes me smile! In a brief second I caught Sanoe smiling and looking at her wonderful mommy. How precious!! 

Project 365: Day 138 - Young Entrepreneurs

From a young age I remember wanting to do something completely different when I grew up. Traditional jobs never sat right with me and I was always thinking of some product or service that I could provide to create my millions!!!

As a small business owner and advocate for dream building, I encourage everyone around me, especially children, to think out of the box and go after their dreams.  And no dream or goal is too big!!! 

Well, today, while driving in this cute neighborhood, I came across these kids selling lemonade!!!

   

OMG!! I about fell over! Thanks to shows like "The Little Rascals" I have ALWAYS wanted to have a lemonade stand since I was a kid! Of course back then the savory drink would  have costed a quarter however, I guess inflation does play a part so .75 shouldnʻt be too much of a shocker. 

Anyways...I had to pull over and interview these young entrepreneurs. The CEO of this motley crew would be...you guessed it! Kanoe, the young lady holding up the sign!!!!  Girl power, peeps!! She and her brother Kainalu wanted to purchase a puppy. And in order for them to do so, their mother said they had to raise the funds themselves. And this was their idea!  Isnʻt this great?? 

So here it is, the beginning of summer. Kanoe and Kainalu, along with their supportive team (made up of  a cousin and several friends), are spending a whole day (including Saturday)  in the hot sun, on the corner of the street selling lemonade for .75. Sure they could have been at the pool, in a mall, or sitting in front of a tv but noooo!  Theyʻve chosen to make their dream into reality by investing their time and energy and focusing on their goal and going for it! 

Iʻm so proud of these kids. After donating $5 to their cause (they offered me many cups of lemonade which was really juice . But I couldnʻt take it because of the whole artificial sweetening and high-fructose thing which I was going to lecture them about but decided not to) I thanked each of them for being such an inspiration to the entire neighborhood!  As I drove away, I noticed several cars had stopped to make a purchase. Little do these patrons know that theyʻre empowering these kids and helping them manifest their dreams! And not to mention, itʻs always good to BUY LOCAL!!!

So parents, encourage your children to think, dream, create...if they want something enable them to come up with solutions and ideas to make their dreams come true. Now thatʻs a great summer project!  This should also apply to us as adults.  Create your reality and follow your passion. Go out there and put up and run your own lemonade stand with your team of happy family and friends! And have fun!!!
